You don’t do yoga because you’re flexible – you get flexible because you do yoga!
Beginners’ yoga is slower, at the pace and level of intensity (or not) that is right for your body. Gradually you build up your strength and mobility and become familiar with the yoga postures and sequences. I give careful instruction on alignment, so that you learn how to be stable and safe, and what feels good for your body. Resting is always an option.
Yoga is about much more than the physical practice. It is about breath, energy, how we think, how we live, and meditation. Ultimately, the physical practice of hatha yoga is to lead us to meditation. Many in-studio classes focus only on the physical, which I love, but I am passionate that right from the beginning of your yoga journey, meditation is crucial. If you miss this, you miss the entire point! Each session ends with meditation, trying various techniques to find the ones that resonate with you.
I have a down-to-earth, relaxed and light-hearted teaching style. We take the yoga seriously, but not ourselves!
PRICING
Private classes. 75 minutes.
Booked in blocks of six, held weekly or twice-weekly.
Single trial lesson: £75. Block of six: £360.
