Private yoga classes (live online)
Who is private yoga for?
My classes are for you if you’ve done postural yoga for a while and want personal support to help you learn more, progress your physical practice, build a meditation practice and feel increasingly drawn to the spiritual aspect of yoga.
I specialise in teaching women over 40 who know there’s more to yoga then where you put your foot in Trikonāsana. You may be thinking about doing a 200-hour teacher training, to enhance your practice or to teach, or you may have done one but it didn’t focus enough on meditation or was too academic.
Why have private yoga classes?
With personal teaching you feel seen, heard and nourished with the support of one teacher who gets to know you and your practice. You feel motivated and accountable. Students often say that if they didn’t have an appointment in the diary with me, they probably wouldn’t switch off from work.
There has been a collective awakening to what’s important: human and spiritual connection. You feel a strong desire to bring more of these things into your life. But with everything most of us are dealing with – the post-pandemic effects on our lives, jobs, families and health – it can be hard to find the time and motivation for yoga, spiritual life, deeply nourishing self-care and the things that speak to your heart.
What will you get from private yoga?
A dedicated yoga practice, with the support of the right teacher, gives you tools to support you and reconnect you to yourself, your physical body, mindset, emotions and energy but ultimately to your deepest, inner Self. It can help you feel more more at ease in your mind and body, and more centred and in harmony.
When you make meditation a regular part of your life, you become more aware of your inner self, Mother Earth and the higher Consciousness of which we are all part. This helps you live from a more heart-centred place, kinder and more compassionate to yourself and to others. You can stand firmer when there’s a storm and live more freely, fully and with ease in the world.
Am I the right teacher for you?
I’ve been devoted to my yoga practice for 24 years and been teaching since 2008, mostly the traditional way, one to one. My calling is to pass on the wisdom of yoga the way it’s been handed down through generations and passed to me through my teachers past and present. I know the ongoing challenges of a committed yoga practice and can support you as you go through your own personal journey, so you can rise and shine.
Yoga has helped me to be understand myself more, feel more at ease with who I am, be more accepting of all my shades of light and dark, and be kinder to myself – and consequently kinder and more understanding of others. I want to share yoga so that it might do the same for you. I dream of a happier, kinder world where the feminine qualities of nurturing, feeling, healing, creativity, intuition, wisdom and balance come to the fore in society. Sharing the practices of yoga is my contribution to creating this society and being the change I want to see.
What are the sessions like?
I blend hatha yoga with elements of classical tantra woven in. I teach a strong, slow flowing āsana practice with deep focus on the breath to draw you inward (with a playlist of sacred sounds for in-person classes). This is followed by heart-centred meditations and goddess practices (visualisations and chanting). Let’s awaken all the aspects of the divine feminine that you already are! Find what you need within you.
