about jacqui gibbons

I trained as a yoga teacher on triyoga’s two-year, 350-hours diploma, studying under Carlos Pomeda, Jeff Phenix and Susannah Hoffman. I teach a grounded yet flowing class where we move with grace, breathe with ease, find the stillness within, seek the truth of our Self, and smile! I combine the philosophy and meditation of traditions such as Tantra and classical with the asana and pranayama of Hatha. I believe yoga is not complete without meditation, seeking the core of who we are, our true nature of love and bliss. I have practised and studied yoga for 18 years. The teachers whose classes I attend regularly are Jeff Phenix and Erika Tourell. I constantly further my practice, seeking both knowledge (through workshops and study) and the truth within, which we only find when we put the books down and look within, in meditation. I practise yoga daily.

I qualified as an Ayurvedic practitioner in 2008, after training for two years with Vaidya Atreya Smith of the European Institute of Vedic Studies (EIVS) and then Dr Sunil V Joshi of the Vinayak Ayurveda and Panchakarma Research Foundation in Nagpur, India.

For seven years I ran an Ayurvedic practice at Maitri Natural Health Centre in south London (then briefly at Triyoga in Camden), where I treated patients' health issues through diagnosis and treatment of imbalance in the doshas, devising personalised health programmes utilising Ayurvedic nutrition and health coaching. I also provided Ayurvedic massage, facials, Shirodhara, marma point healing and yoga.

I stopped working one-to-one to do my yoga teacher training, and now plan to offer yoga and meditation classes and courses, and yoga and Ayurveda workshops. I also work as journalist and I live in sunny south London.
